These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Stash mobile application and the Stash website (“Stash”, “Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
By downloading, accessing, or using Stash, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Service.
01About Stash
Stash is a personal budgeting and expense tracking application designed to help you record, organize, import, and analyze your personal financial transactions.
Stash may provide features including:
- Manual transaction tracking
- Budget planning
- Automatic transaction import
- Transaction recognition from bank notifications
- Transaction recognition from Gmail
- Credit card tracking
- Multi-currency calculations
- Financial goals and planning
- Spending analysis
Features may change, be added, or be removed as the Service evolves.
02Stash Is Not a Financial Institution
Stash is a personal finance management tool.
Stash is not a bank, payment provider, financial institution, investment adviser, accountant, tax adviser, or financial adviser.
Information displayed by Stash is provided for personal budgeting and informational purposes only and should not be considered financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice.
You remain responsible for your financial decisions.
03Accuracy of Financial Information
Stash may automatically recognize, extract, categorize, calculate, or otherwise process financial information.
Automatic processing may occasionally produce incorrect results.
For example, Stash may incorrectly identify:
- Transaction amounts
- Currencies
- Merchants
- Categories
- Transaction dates
- Accounts or cards
- Duplicate transactions
- Exchange rates
- Other transaction information
You are responsible for reviewing information that is important to your financial decisions.
Stash should not be used as the sole source for determining bank balances, credit card obligations, payment deadlines, taxes, debts, or other legally or financially significant amounts.
Your bank, card issuer, or other financial institution remains the authoritative source for such information.
04Gmail Integration
Stash may offer an optional Gmail integration that allows financial transactions to be identified from transaction notification emails.
If you enable this feature, Stash requests read-only Gmail access through Google OAuth.
This access is used to provide the user-facing transaction import functionality.
Stash does not receive your Google password.
The Gmail integration does not allow Stash to send, modify, or delete your emails.
You may disconnect Gmail or revoke Stash’s access through your Google Account at any time.

Stash’s use of information received from Google APIs is subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
05Bank Notifications and Automatic Imports
If enabled, Stash may process notifications generated by banking or financial applications in order to identify transactions.
Transaction recognition is automated and may not always be accurate.
The availability and accuracy of this functionality may depend on your bank, notification format, device, operating system, language, and other factors outside our control.
Stash is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by banks or financial institutions whose notifications or transaction emails may be recognized by the Service, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
06Privacy and Your Data
Your use of Stash is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
We design Stash to minimize the collection and transmission of personal financial information.
Where a feature is described as being processed locally or stored on your device, that description applies according to the technical implementation of that feature.

07Exchange Rates and Currency Conversion
Stash may provide currency conversion and exchange-rate functionality.
Exchange rates may be provided by third-party data sources or entered manually and may differ from rates used by banks, card issuers, payment networks, or currency exchanges.
Converted amounts displayed by Stash are estimates for budgeting purposes.
You should not rely on them for financial settlement, trading, accounting, or other purposes requiring an official exchange rate.
08Subscriptions and Purchases
Some Stash features may require a paid subscription or other in-app purchase.
Purchases made through Google Play are processed by Google and are subject to Google Play’s applicable payment, cancellation, and refund policies.
Available plans, prices, billing periods, trials, and features may vary by country and may change over time.
Where permitted by the applicable platform and law, subscriptions may automatically renew unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Google Play account.
09Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Stash for unlawful purposes
- Attempt to interfere with or compromise the security of the Service
- Reverse engineer the Service except where permitted by applicable law
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or data
- Use the Service in a way that could damage or disrupt its operation
- Misrepresent your identity or authorization when accessing third-party services through Stash
10Third-Party Services
Certain Stash features may depend on third-party services, including Google services, operating-system services, exchange-rate providers, or other technology providers.
Those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
We are not responsible for outages, changes, restrictions, or discontinuation of third-party services outside our control.
11Availability and Changes
We aim to keep Stash available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue features when necessary for security, technical, legal, or product reasons.
Updates may be required to continue using certain features.
12Disclaimer of Warranties
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Stash is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We do not guarantee that:
- The Service will always be available or error-free
- Automatically imported information will always be accurate
- Every bank notification or transaction email will be recognized
- Calculations or categorizations will always be correct
- The Service will meet every user’s individual financial requirements
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer protection laws.
13Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from your use of or inability to use Stash.
This includes losses resulting from reliance on incorrectly imported transactions, categorizations, currency conversions, budget calculations, or other information generated by the Service.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
14Intellectual Property
Stash, including its software, design, branding, graphics, and other original content, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Stash for its intended purpose.
They do not transfer ownership of Stash or its intellectual property to you.
15Termination
You may stop using Stash at any time.
You may also revoke access granted to connected third-party services, including Gmail, at any time.
We may restrict access to the Service where reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risks, legal requirements, or violations of these Terms.
16Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When material changes are made, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
Continued use of Stash after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms where permitted by applicable law.
17Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the entity or individual operating Stash, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights that apply in your country of residence.
Nothing in these Terms removes rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
