Credit card spending tracker

Stash treats a credit card as more than another account balance. It connects card purchases, statement periods, payment obligations and repayments to the rest of your budget.

Analyze card spending by what you bought

A useful credit card spending tracker separates groceries, transport and other purchases from repayments. Categorize the purchases and review your spending totals against category plans. A repayment should not inflate those totals.

One card, three different questions

What must I pay this cycle? The issuer’s statement amount and due date
Have I paid it?The repayment from your cash account to the card

AED 350 spent is still AED 350 after repayment

Imagine AED 200 of groceries and AED 150 of transport, with no fees, interest or earlier debt. Record AED 350 of expenses. Paying AED 350 from your bank account to the card settles that liability; it does not create another AED 350 of spending.

Follow the complete purchase-to-payment walkthrough in budgeting with a credit card. For travel purchases, keep the original currency and a home-currency planning view.

Record spending when it happens

A card purchase is spending on its transaction date, even though cash leaves your bank account later. Recording the expense at purchase time keeps category and budget reporting aligned with the decision that created the cost.

Keep statement obligations visible

Statement cycles and due dates determine when accumulated card spending must be repaid. Stash can surface payment obligations so card debt is not mistaken for money that remains available.

Avoid counting repayment as a second expense

A repayment settles an existing liability. If the original purchases were already counted as expenses, treating the repayment as another expense exaggerates spending. Stash can represent the repayment as movement between your cash and card obligation instead.
